A few weeks ago we went to Indiana for the world premiere of Daniel's movie Creed of Gold. It was a lot of fun, the movie and music were great :-)

On our way downtown we passed so many beautiful houses!

There were also a lot of beautiful churches!

The Adventures of Being a Mommy!

Phebes and I got to be mommys this past week; we watched the Elie kids from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday night. The kids kept us on our toes but were also making us laugh constantly :-)

Every time we drove in the car Chloe wanted to sing. She also told me I was funny so we got along great:-)

We had macaroni for dinner one night, Michael said he did not like it but I told him he needed to eat some of it. A few minutes later he asked me if I knew what the word perseverance meant, I said yes and he said, "I'm persevering through eating this macaroni" :-)

I was cleaning up after dinner; when I walked out of the kitchen Michael was just standing there like this. It scared me so much that I screamed AND jumped... Michael just thought it was pretty funny.

Michael helped me make the pancakes, he did a great job!

They each had their inital, a heart, and a Mickey Mouse. Michael also asked me to make a giraffe which, due to my amazing artistic skills, turned out great! Unfortunately, it fell apart before I could get a picture of the masterpiece. :-/

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day this year we all met at the park. Even though it rained we all had a fun time spending time together, eating, and playing football and baseball.

Rhiana is so beautiful, I love her eyes!

We all tried our batting abilities. Sharon decided to try as well, she did better than some of us. I won't mention who but the initals start with me.

A few weeks ago our family went to a concert that one of my dad's colleague was in. It was so fun to spend time with our whole family!

We had the Weadock family over for dinner tonight; the girls enjoyed sending Suzy text messages from our phones while she is at camp and the boys had fun trying to beat Simon at ping-pong.

Over the past eight years, Joy Hirth (our pastor's wife) battled cancer; on Friday the 19th she went home to be with the Lord. Growing up I always remember Mrs. Hirth being so happy and excited about life; she remained that way until the day she died. She was also such a wonderful testimony of how happy a person can be when they serve the Lord in everything they do. She was loved and respected by many people and will be missed greatly! Please keep Preacher in your prayers at this time. Isn't this a beautiful picture?

It is amazing how fast time flies; I cannot believe it has been six years since Stephen died. I miss him so much and there are so many times I wish I could just talk to him again or see him again. Happy New Year; I can't believe it is already 2010! It seems like just yesterday it was 2000. So much has happened over the past 10 years; it will be interesting to see all that will happen in the next 10 years! On Sunday we went to visit the Scahills and ended up spending all day Sunday and Monday with them. They used to go to our Church but moved away at least 10 years ago. Mom and dad saw them last year but we haven't seen them in 6 or 7 years so it was fun to see them again! We had a wonderful time and made lots of memories

Thanksgiving is always such a fun time to get together with family and friends but it is also a good opportunity to remember all the things we can be thankful for. Just a few of the things I am thankful for are my Godly parents, my fun and crazy friends, brothers, and sister, and most importantly; for my salvation. What are you thankful for?
For Thanksgiving this year we went to my mom's brother's house; it is always fun to see our cousins and to hang out with them for the day :-) Enjoy the pictures!

Mom, Phebes, and I are in FL for the weekend. We got to see our friends(family), the Scahills yesterday and today. Right now Michael, Daniel, Andrew, Joshua, Phebes, and I are hangin' out. We are just about to leave for the airport but we just thought we would post a few pictures before we left. We have had sooo much fun this weekend and I love my new little brothers;-)

Here goes the story: One fine day 4 friends were going shopping. 2 of the friends (Tabitha and Phoebe) made a smart remark that the 3rd friend's (Abby's) purse was a bit large. "I could probably fit in it" said Tabitha. To which Abigail replied, "Well, there is only one way to find out". Abigail then took out all the contents of her purse and Tabitha jumped right in. It was a fun day! While shopping the 4 friends also found some sweet new shoes for Tabitha to wear to cosmetology school. The end.

On another note, I miss Mary WAY too much; she needs to hurry up and come home! Love you girl!!!!!!!!!!

Music Therapy Workshop

Ladies Retreat

This weekend Mom, Phoebe, and I went to Hillsdale with Faithway for their ladies retreat. Since Grandma lives nearby we asked her to come with us. It was fun to be able to spend the weekend with her:-) It was also nice to relax! Mrs. Lynne Wiggins was the speaker and theme was on our relationships with others; it was really good!

When we were unloading I mentioned that it looked like we were staying forever, Phoebe said she packed "light" I'd hate to see what packing "heavy" would look like:-)

When we got to the door this fuzzy guy was on the door... Phebes would have nothing to do with it so I had to show her that animals are our friends.

Mrs. Patterson brought door prize for one person in every cabin. Of course, you can't go wrong with jewelry:-)

Friday Night after the session Mrs. Patterson had a jewelry station set up where you could make whatever you wanted. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone created:-)

Tonight while we were at McDonalds someone had a bouncy ball so Simon rolled it on the ground and shouted "mouse, mouse" at the same time my Mom shouted "look theres a mouse!" Jo and Tab thought they were being serious so they both jumped away from the table and shouted "where?!" when they realized it was a joke we all had a good laugh. It was so funny that I said I wished I had recorded it; we decided we should redo the whole thing and catch it on video. This video is after Tab knew it was a joke however her response was definetly not fake! Enjoy:-)

Nursery and Going away Party

Tonight I was in the 7-9 year olds class, we talked about being happy no matter what our circumstances were and then we decorated cookies on a stick with happy faces to help us remember to always be happy no matter what trials come into our lives.

The Merry Month of May

So a lot has happened since the last time I posted. I finished school, got my wisdom teeth pulled, and took the MTTC test (which I passed!) to get into the College of Education at EMU. I love school but it's nice to have a break and I am very excited for this summer!

I am leaving a week from today with Tabitha and JO to spend the summer at Camp Joy. Tab and I are going to be counselors and Jo is going to work in the office. I am very excited but we will miss all our friends and family. Please pray for us this summer, I am excited to see how God will use us!

Elena all ready for Africa... She was in the box playing with her Pollys:-) He is so cute! I miss them sooo much Ivan's soccer game... it was cold and rainy but we are faithful friends forever:-)

We are in North Carolina on vacation!!!

It's been so relaxing and we've been having a blast. The weather is a little windy and chilly but compared to Michigan it's wonderful:-) It was great having George here for the weekend; he left for home today. Here are some pictures from our trip so far...

My Life

Wow, I just realized I haven't posted since New Years Day! So much has happened since then it's crazy! I have been very, very, busy but it's been good.
Right now my life is school, church, and babysitting. I am taking earth science, math for EL teachers, Spanish lit, and a journalism class. It's kind of a weird combination but it works. All my classes are fun but keep my busy, I always have something going on in all of my classes!
Phoebe left for BJU today with Suz, Mar, and Bethany. I know she is going to have a blast and I'm glad she gets to go! I just wish I were going to SC too:-( Oh well, at least we have nice weather here! I did wear flip flops to school today!!! It was WoNdErFuL!!!!!!
OH yea, I almost forgot... I am so proud of the Titans! They are absolutely amazing and almost won their game last night; it was soooooo close. Next time boys!!! I'll post some pictures sometime when I get a chance. Lydia and Hannah took some really cool pictures; Lydia got a picture of Stephen dunking which is very awesome!
SO as usual, this post is just a bunch of ramblings... oh well, maybe one of these days I'll post something that actually makes sense:-) I'm going to study for my math test. Have an absolutely, positively, lovely night!

Well I'm finally posting again. I can't believe how much has happened in the last two months! I started school again September and my life has been crazy ever since:-) I love all my classes this semester although they get crazy sometimes! I'm taking Spanish second year, Math for Elementry Teachers, a computer class, and Psychology of Human Development. It's a fun semester!

My parents went to FL in September, they got to visit with my uncles, aunt, and my Dad's cousin. They also got to see the Scahill's!!! We haven't seen them for at least 6 years maybe more. They had a wonderful time!!!

We were driving up the drive tonight and I asked George to stop the car because the colors from the sun were so pretty. The church looked beautiful with the colors behind it. My camera didn't really capture it the best but you get the idea:-) It is amazing to think about all the things God has created. Whether it's a little butterfly or the largest mountain; they were all made by Him. We should always be thankful for the wonderful things He has given us! O Lord, how great are thy works! ~Psalm 92:5

Tradition: a customary or characteristic method or manner.
One of the longest traditions I remember is going to the Annual Civil War Muster in Jackson. One year we even camped out with all the performers. We had the tent right next to Abraham Lincoln; we gave his daughter orange juice the next morning because she had to take her medicine and he gave us donuts. I thought it was a pretty fair trade :-) Well yesterday was the day to go so we went. Actually, the whole family didn't go; just my Dad, Phoebe, Simon, and I. They still have the best sarsaparilla tea and kettle corn:-P It was SOOO hot but it was still pretty cool. The highlight of the day was getting to meet the son of a Civil War Soldier. He is 90 years old and his name is Harold Becker. His Dad was 17 when he joined the 128Th Indiana Infantry, his unit participated in Sherman's March to the Sea. 53 years later Harold was born, so 143 years after the war ended a son of a soldier is alive! I guess there are only 25 people left that are like him. Anyways, it was pretty cool. There was a reporter there with a little notebook asking him questions:-)

The muster lasts for 3 days, we always go on Saturday which is always the day the confederates win. All the Yankees were retreating...:-( This was after half the regiment deserted.

At the end of the battle the confederates do a bayonet charge and scream their heads off at the crowd
On a lighter note, here are a few pictures from today. There must have been something in the air because black and white were popular colors today!

The Burtt's brought some watermelon(it was delicious!) Here are the watermelon girls- they love it!!!

Camp Joy II

I had an awesome week at Camp Joy. I was not ready to come home and no one else was either :-) The week was busy but lots of fun! The preaching was great too, Pastor Collard was a great speaker. He did a great job bringing things down to a level the kids were on. While we were there we also got to see Abby, Elena, and Elias. We met at Pizza Hut for lunch and had a great time! It was great to meet Elias, he is so cute! We also painted Tina and Stephens apartment which looks really awesome:-) I hope to upload pictures soon but for now I'm going to bed!

Tomorrow I leave for Camp Joy with the girls from church that are going. I hope the girls have a great time!!! For those that were wondering, I am not going as a camper but as a sponsor:-)

So I came down to the basement to get a suitcase and instead got on the computer, I still have to pack and it is already 11 something. I guess I should probably go- at least I can sleep on the way there! There is nothing better than a nap in a car, as long as you have a pillow:-P Actually, I don't think there is a whole lot of things better than a nap period. Except maybe food:-) Wow, if you can't tell I'm extremly tired and a little off the crazy side. Well I hope everyone has a great week and I will "hopefully" be posting when I get home. If not, I will start up again when school starts because it's just so much easier at school! Have a wonderful, awesome, beautiful week!!!

It will be great to see George when I get home. He is coming home on tuesday which is awesome! We miss him a lot but he is having a fabulous time so it's ok:-) Well bye for real!

I just thought I would post to keep the mob off:-) Pretty much all I've been doing recently is babysitting and visiting my Grandparents. I'm actually babysitting right now, the girls come over to my house and I watch them here or they go with me wherever I go. It's pretty fun, they are adorable and it's like having 2 more little sisters. Everyone in the family loves them too:-) They like to do stuff with Sunita too which is cool. We usually all hang out together:-) (we are right now!) Although I guess I'm not really. Here is a picture of them...

This is the day it was so cold and they didn't have jackets so they borrowed mine:-) I took them to meijer and let them ride the ponies(a favorite pastime:-)

Gillian and Alexandra(Allie) I also babysit across the street for my neighbor(ovbiously!) She is the one with the autistic girls; they are also adorable:-) I'm also starting to tutor my neighbor on monday which should be interesting but fun!

Sarah and Stevens wedding was very cool! It was a great opportunity for hearing people to experience what deaf people go through everyday! Everything was beautiful and the wedding was awesome! Here are a few pix from the day...

So I know I said I would start posting more updates but I actually haven't. My computer has been really dumb lately, we really need a new one but hey we can't get rid of Old Faithful:-) Anyhow, I really haven't been on the computer at all recently except for a few minutes which is why there have been no updates. I do have a million pictures I could post but when you have such a slow computer it really gets obnoxious after 45 minutes or more!!!
I love it when Sam & Abby & Elena are in town. Elena is so cute and I love to hear her say "Abby Joshua". The way she says everything is adorable but it's even cuter when she says my name:-) She is so sweet and I love to hear her talk!! Anyways, here is a pictue...

I woke up at 4:20 today to take my brother to the airport. He left for Europe today and will be gone until August 5th. He is soo excited and I am excited for him, I just wish I were going with him!!! He is living my dream- I have always wanted to travel around Europe. I guess I just have to wait a little longer:-) Its weird to think that by tomorrow morning he will be in Ireland!!! So pretty much everyone who knows me know I never really win anything. I think the last thing I won was the teen activity "best outfit". Anyhow, today all the Wendys in MI were giving 15% of their sales to Make A Wish so I went and bought something (I dragged along my brother and sister too:-) Anyways, they had a Mountain Bike contest so Simon and I both filled out a form. At about 9:05 I got a phone call; it was the girl from Make a Wish and she told me I had won the bike! We went and picked it up and now it is in our garage;-) It is really an awesome bike especially since I haven't had one since we lived in Suriname! I will be doing a lot of bike riding this summer:-P

This March I will participate in a 5K Walk to make a difference for kids who really need some magic in their lives! The 2008 Ann Arbor Walk 4 Kids benefits four children's agencies: Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan, Ronald McDonald House of Ann Arbor, UM CS Mott Children's Hospital and UM Women's Hospital and UM Comprehensive Cancer Center. On Saturday March 29, I will be joining hundreds of walkers as we raise money for this cause. I hope you will make a financial contribution, in my name, so that I can walk to help sick kids. Together we can make a true difference . . . one step at a time!

Hello, here is a post Sarah:-) I think I'm going crazy!!! I feel like as soon as I finish one day of school and I think I might be able to sit down I have to get ready for something the next day. I'm running around in a cirle and there is no end so I'll never get out of it!!! LOL, well it's not that bad but it gets pretty crazy at times. I guess its just becuase I had a quiz yesterday, a test today, and a test tomorrow. On top of that I have loads and loads of homework to do. Also, in english class we are supposed to write lesson plans well the teacher never told us what they were so I was a little lost:-) I just finished writing one but who knows if its right?!

Anyways, thats my life story in a nutshell:-) I am getting so excited! We have 11 days til we are flying to FL!!! I cannot wait:-)

So I'm sitting here at school just a little bit stranded :-( I was in class and then a girl came in and said all classes starting at 5 were being canceled. Well our class goes til 5 but the teacher decided to let us go. That was nice but I don't really have a car here so it didn't really help me:-( Now I'm just waiting for my dad to get here. He is coming from work I think but he doesn't have a phone so I'm just waiting here which is where we are supposed to meet.
The weather is really nasty though - it was raining then it turned to hail and now its snowing. I guess people were falling all over the place outside:-( I hope I don't!!! Anyways, this is kind of a rambling post so I guess I'll just say goodbye - I'm really bored:-) Could you tell?!?! Hope you have an awesome day!!!

Christmas is my favorite time of the year; I love seeing family, the snow(which we don't have!), christmas music, and many other things about the season. It is unbelieveable that to people Christmas is just another holiday where people won't even say "Merry Christmas" at work, school, and stores. Hopefully we won't let Christmas become just another holiday but that it will always be the time we remember that Jesus came and was born in a manger for us.

Well, I'm actually updating and it has only been 2 days since the last one!

Today Susie, Phoebe, and I went and helped Tom Wall. He has a foundation for kids with special needs and they have tons of fundraising things all year. During the football season they sell hotdogs and candy and cookies and all kinds of stuff. Anyways, we went and helped today. It was SOOO cold- my feet are still thawing out(I guess it doesn't help that I'm in a freezing basement:)

Other than that, it was pretty fun. We stood out on the street all day and yelled "donations, hotdogs, cider" and all kinds of other stuff... If you don't see me talking anytime soon that would be why:-) It was pretty sad, all the Ohio State fans were giving us $10's and $20's and most of the MI fan gave $1 if that! They were really not very nice:-( Except to say "Go Blue!" And then they started buying ponchos when it started raining.

Anyways, Congratulations to the Weadocks!!! They had a baby boy:-) As far as I know, he still doesn't have a name yet!!! I will hopefully get a picture and put that up soon.

HI everyone! I've been getting bugged about posting again so here goes... I just finished doing my online class and I am about to go to bed because I'm exhausted! I don't have school for the next 10 days so,as you can imagine,I am pretty happy:-)

Nothing exciting has really been happening in my life. The highlight of my week is that I went and picked out glasses on wednesday so I should be able to see whenever they get in. *Yay*

Well, not much has been happening in my life recently except school. I am really enjoying school, it is so much fun to learn new things and to meet new people! Simon turned 12 on July 20th! Mrs. Soucie was so nice and let us all come and have a party out at her house. We had a bonfire and roasted marshmellows and hotdogs;-)

Jimmy Mills left this world for his home in heaven on July 20, 2007. We will never forget his bright smile, his contagious laughter, or the beautiful music that he both played and composed. Even though we don't always understand why certain things happen in our lives, God has a plan for everything he does - including taking Jimmy home to be with Him. Although we will always miss him, the wonderful memories we have of Jimmy will live on in our hearts forever.

We are getting ready for the 4th of July Picnic at church. It should be lots of fun!!! We are having a Rodeo this year, instead of horses they are using bikes but I think it will be really cool. Hopefully I can figure out something to do about my camera. Actually, I think I figured out the problem I just haven't been able to fix it. I'm hoping to get it to a camera shop or something. Hey Everyone, I'm on vacation and I'm having a blast!!! Yesterday I was taking pictures and then I DROPPED MY CAMERA!!! Now it won't turn on;-( I am soooo upset at myself I don't know WHAT to do! It is with much regret that I tell you that the Pistons are knocked out of the finals. Well it happened a couple days ago but I never really thought they would lose that bad, especially to Lebron JAMES! UGH, I can't stand that man!
